Summer vacation, SEE YOU IN THE FALL
SUMMER VACATION
It's summer vacation time around chezTECH. As has been usual for the past few summers, the blog remains on line, complete with indexes, but no new posts are put up for a couple of months.
The garden calls and I must answer.

PREVIEW: FALL 2012
Summer flits by so very fast, and before you know it, TECHknitting blog will be posting new material! For fall 2012, I've planned:
- a pattern for sale--men's socks featuring dyeing, a chart-chart adapted for color knitting and a wicked undercover alter-ego;
- a new technique booklet for sale: a fabric on the border between knitting and weaving (amazing color combinations are possible, fabulous scarves are within easy reach) and
- a pair of mittens coming out in a nationally distributed print magazine: uber-warm and lined a whole new way.

Wow! I can't wait for the sock pattern! Also the new woven-and-knit fabric sounds amazing, I can't wait for that either. I wish I could go to Yarnover!! Unfortunately I can't make it to Minneapolis then. But I am so excited of the new posts on picking up stitches!! I don't know how I will be able to survive the summer until all of this comes out!!

Can't wait for the picking up stitches article. I KEEP on messing that up, even when using a smaller needle. It looks like I have small holes. So unsightly along a neck edge! Check out the technique in the pattern Nantucket Red http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/nantucket-red
Some stitches are left on stitch holders, others you pick up....It's a MESS, I tell ya!

Glad you are back! (Also nice to know of another knitter who is also a gardener). I have a request for an upcoming blog post: How to fix a moth hole in a knitted garment. I've seen various approaches on the internet but would like to know you would approach this heartbreaking problem.
Hi Linda--fixing moth holes depends a LOT where the holes are and what kind of damage thee is--each case differs. Do you have the original yarn to use in your fix/patch?
